Best speed setup

Postby Zippy7 » September 19th, 2011, 8:13 pm

So, I've decided on going with electric as I can probably race almost all year long.

I'm thinking of racing 1/10 scale electric. Not sure on the kit I will go with, but what motor and esc combo would be best for oval carpet racing? Since the local track runs this as the most common configuration, I want to base my setup on that.

Thoughts?

What are the Class Rules for the place you are looking to run? Tons of motor and ESC combos out there but if you buy something that is illegal by the tracks class rules there is no point.

I can tell you that the Tekin RS Pro speed control is probably the best speed control out right now for brushless 1/10th scale. So with that now it is just a matter of finding out what motor limitation you have.

Well, it's been a while since I've been online, been working too much. I'm not sure that I need to have the absolute 'best' out there, but definitely want something good. I will check into the Tekin system and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the input MrBinks - YOU ROCK!

The tekin speed control with a novak motor is the choice of many where I race. just cuz you get the tekin speed control, does not mean you have to get a tekin motor also. food for thought

What about Turnigy Speed controls? Seem to be a lot cheaper? What amperage should I be looking at?
