Servo guidance!

Any tips on buying servos?

What are some of the best for 1/8th scale nitro? Both steering and throttle?

Thanks

Depends on the radio system you have and how much you want to spend. Assuming you have a radio that can support digital servos this is the way you want to go. My self I use Digital High Speed servos for Throttle and Steering, You can now get Digital High Torque servos that are just as fast as a high speed so I would suggest that. If you want to save money but still have a good servo I have been told Savox is the way to go.

Well, I'm running the Dx3R radio system, so I'm sure it can handle just about any servos. The KO Propo servos I'm running now seem to be really slow.... I believe that one of them is a digital servo and the other is analog, I'll have to check and see what they are when I get home. What kinda costs can I expect with the digital high torque and high speed servos? Don't have a huge budget for this stuff (like most people), so just curious how bad my wife will beat me. Thanks

Digital is the way to go for sure. for some of the name brand servos you can expect a price tag of around $120-140 per digital servo. You can however find better deals online. There are also some new brands entering the scene, Savox in particular make some decent digital servos for around $75 - $85 a piece.

I myself am goign to give savox a try this winter season. I will let you know what happens, but based on previous experience, I think they will work just a good as the "name" brands.
