- NEVER quote a post that is directly above yours.
Quoting a post that directly precedes your post is redundant, pointless, and takes up more space on the page. Avoid using the quote button unless you are referring to a post made more than one post back up the list. It is unnecessary to quote the post directly above yours. It is assumed that your response pertains to it. - Don't forget to quote when appropriate.
When you are quoting the words of someone else, you MUST put it inside a quotation box; otherwise, it is misrepresented. Avoid saying "this is what I found: blah blah blah" without using the quote feature to give credit to the person who said it originally. Those words can be mistaken as your own.Put it inside a box, like this, otherwise people will think it is your own words. - Quote using the name of the person who said it.
The site does this automatically when you click the quote button but just in case... remember to add the ="Bill Gates" part when quoting so it will tell the reader who wrote it originally.- Code: Select all

INCORRECT:The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. - NEVER nest more than two quotes inside each other.
Nesting more than two quotes inside one another makes it very difficult to read and can be very hard the eyes. When more than one quote is quoted (or "nested") is can be confusing and difficult to follow.This is the outer quote which has two quotes nested inside of it.This is the middle quote nested inside the first which has another post that it is quoting.
DON'T GO ANY FURTHER THAN THIS.
This is protocol that is followed throughout almost all internet forums to avoid misunderstandings and confusion in forum conversation.
